Weenies, comfort food establishments located in Madison and Denville, New Jersey, sports a tag line of “Every Day has its Dog.”

Therefore, this Brooklyn Dog needed to have his day in New Jersey.

Weenies has been serving some of New Jersey’s best hot dogs, sliders, fries and milkshakes since opening its first outpost in Denville on May 23rd, 2016.

Growing up on New York City dirty water dogs and Brooklyn’s Nathan’s Famous franks in Coney Island, I didn’t really know what to expect as far as quality goes.

But I’ve heard so many good things about its hot dogs and sliders, I decided to pay its Madison location a visit on a light snow-dusted Sunday.

I ordered a Hot Dog All the Way, a Regular Slider and a Vegetarian Slider, just to mix things up a bit.

First, both sliders were delicious, with the veggie burger offering a unique texture and taste to it.

Then, for the Hot Dog All the Way, it was a touchdown taste bomb, no doubt about it. The frank was plump and juicy, just the way I like it, and the chili was savory, with slight notes of heat to it, complemented by the onions and spicy mustard.

Simple food that was simply magnificent. The Nutella and Maple Bacon shakes sound like must-tires for the non-sugar-phobics

In addition, Weenies has partnered up with New Jersey’s Rock Music Station, 105.5 WDHA, and their on-air DJ and personality, Terrie Carr, for a cause that’s close to my heart – helping local dogs in need.

Weenies created a hot dog donning Terrie’s name, Terrie’s Carr’s Top Dog — a weenie wrapped in bacon, and topped with its signature corn relish, for a hot dog that’s salty, savory, sweet and has a little kick. Just like Terrie.

From every TC Dog it sells, $1.00 will be donated to the Denville Animal Shelter. The proceeds will be used to purchase food, medicine and other necessities for the shelter’s residents.
